It is with great delight that we can announce Ann Newton-Hughes has passed her prof doc to become one of an increasing number of Doctors within the directorate – we now total 8 which is an amazing achievement for any Directorate of Radiography.
Ann’s work looked at radiographer problem-solving in the appendicular trauma imaging context. It has the potential to make a significant contribution to our understanding of how radiographers make decisions about positioning patients and this will feed into how we prepare new students for practice.
The importance of Ann’s work was recognised in 2013 when she won the Beth Whittaker (UKRC) poster prize for her interim results. The poster was entitled “Radiographer Assessment of patient mobility in the trauma setting”. Look out for a future blog which summarises Ann’s findings (over to you, Ann).
Well done Dr Newton-Hughes!
