We are really delighted to have Andrew Tootell on our team. Why? Andrew has only gone and been nominated under the Vice-Chancellor’s Distinguished Teaching Awards 2015-16.
This year, the VCDTAs have seen a staggering 42% increase in applications from last year, which speaks volumes to the level of pedagogical excellence which the University is clearly demonstrating. Not to mention the competition Andrew has faced.
Andrew has been shortlisted as a finalist in this hugely popular category, and will hear about whether he has won a prize at the University Day on Wednesday 8 June. Watch this space!
Andrew has also had his application to become a College of Radiographers Approval & Accreditation Board assessor approved. This highly responsible role involves reviewing radiography courses at all levels, and accrediting individual practitioners, to ensure they meet the relevant curriculum and/or professional standards. Carrying out this role also enables assessors to bring back ideas to their own programmes of study ensuring they are up-to-date and innovative. Andrew joins other members of the Salford team who are also College assessors, including Julie Nightingale, Gillian Crofts, Leslie Robinson and Fred Murphy.
